Natura Cabana Boutique Hotel and Spa is a Caribbean yogis paradise in the Dominican Republic. This epic, beachfront eco-friendly boutique hotel is a must add to any Dominican trip stay. At Natura, you'll unwind, relax and re-charge your batteries.
We'll be spending the next few days at Natura Cabana Boutique Hotel & Spa, located just outside of Cabarete in the neighboring town of Sosua. This eco-friendly, ocean-front boutique hotel is perfect for those looking to unwind surrounded by nature; boasting eleven bungalows, a spa, yoga temple, two ocean-view restaurants, a sustainable garden, a central pool, and an eco-friendly alfresco gym. Staying here was one of the highlights of our trip.
I Found my Center, my Balance, my Zen at Natura
Arriving at Natura Cabana Boutique Hotel & Spa
Natura Cabana is located in Sosua, near Cabarete. It's about a 3hr 30min drive from Santo Domingo or a 5hr 30min drive from Punta Cana. We drove from Santo Domingo to Cabarete, passing through Santiago, and found the roads very scenic and well paved. We took a long winding road that slowly scaled up a mountain, offering epic jungle views. If you need help arranging your transportation/stay there, contact @sunsandspiritdr; they can host and organize everything for you!
We'll be lodging in Cabana Piedra, also known as the "stone bungalow."

Our Bungalow at Natura Cabana
We'll be lodging in Cabaña Piedra, also known as the "stone bungalow."
The concepts of Feng Shui inspired the creation of this stunning and epic eco-friendly bungalow. Cabaña Piedra features a small-scale kitchen perfect for on-the-go cooking, a queen-sized bed with air conditioning if needed, ample closet space to air dry your clothes, and my favorite part-- the bathroom with a rustic yet chic design and look. Did I mention this bungalow is also a 5-minute walk from Encuentro Beach? The perfect beach for surfing, kite surfing and water sports.
Natura Restaurant | Cabarete, Dominican Republic
A one-minute walk from our bungalow is Natura, one of the two open-air restaurants on-site. Natura is open for dinner only from 5 pm to 10:30 pm and offers fresh and savory international gourmet cuisine. You can expect a fusion blend of fresh tropical ingredients intertwined with flavors from around the world when dining at Natura. The restaurant offers epic beach views, so I recommend booking a table to enjoy the amazing Dominican Republic beach sunset view when the sun is setting.
After a delicious meal, sit back, relax, and enjoy the view.
Yoga Temple at Natura Cabana
We're waking at the crack of dawn and finding our Zen. Staying at Natura Cabana was one of the most relaxing experiences we had traveling through the Dominican Republic. This boutique hotel offers a yoga studio overlooking the ocean, perfect to book a class or head on up to meditate and clear your head. Due to its ambiance and carefree look, I find Natura Cabana unique and special- flowing with magical healing powers provided by mother nature.
At Natura, you're constantly surrounded by music, whether it's coming from the ocean waves crashing, the wind gently brushing against the palm trees, or the mantra-like instrumental music surrounding the space; one thing is for sure. This place will help you unwind, go with the flow, and find your center.
Natura is much more than a simple boutique hotel--it's a travel destination!
Zen Path | Natura Cabana
Across the Yoga Temple, you'll find the Zen Path, a short pebble-lined walk for those looking to disconnect a bit further and practice walking meditation. Walking meditation is a practice in Buddhism that incorporates movement and walking between long periods of sitting meditation. So if you're sitting for a long time, you can take a break and walk it out! Walking meditation can boost your blood flow, improve digestion, reduce anxiety, and alleviate depression.
This Dominican boutique hotel is nothing but Zen, inviting you to relax, unwind and connect with nature.
The Organic Herb & Vegetable Garden at Natura Cabana
This nature-infused walk ends at the organic vegetable and herb garden, where the fresh produce is grown, gathered, and used to prepare the meals at both on-premise restaurants.
And from farm to table, here's our breakfast.
If it's your first time visiting the Dominican Republic, I highly recommend getting a traditional Dominican breakfast!
On my plate: Mangú (first boiled, then mashed green plantain), Salamí (deep-fried), fried eggs, local white cheese, and pickled onions. This version of Dominican breakfast is called "Los Tres Golpes."
I love Dominican breakfast, and being Dominican myself, I grew up eating it all the time! A variation (my personal favorite) is substituting the green plantain for a ripe yellow one. The flavor is sweet and melts in your mouth; I find it the perfect balance between sweet (the plantain) and salty (the salami.)
We loved our stay in Natura Cabana. The central pool is lined with palm trees offering shade, perfect for swimming all day long.
Eco-Gym at Natura Cabana
Natura Cabana offers an outdoor gym using recyclable materials from nature. I found this so cool; it was my first time visiting and working out in one!
Here are some of my favorite photographs I took during our stay.
